  Who are the "other sheep"?

  144,000 brothers and "other sheep".

  now, since the sheep are not referred to as brothers also, could this mean they are :.

  just thought this article was interesting in view of what has been said in the last couple of years on the forum about the declining number of elders and servants and those reaching out.

  add to that the large percentage of young teenage boys who leave 'the truth'.

  i can't ever remember this much space in a km being devoted to converting men.. para 2 states: "when a family head accepts the truth, he often influences others in the family to join him in pure worship".

  They are most likely working on this--they just haven't come up with a bible based angle yet!

  I've just made one up - any WT spies, you can use this if you want, free of charge.

  1) New light, Jerusalem was destroyed in 586 BCE - another case of the bible being proven right by archeology!
  
  2) Daniel 5:25 "Mene , Mene , Tekel , Parsin", Daniel explains Mene means " God has numbered the days of your reign and brought it to an end.", this represents the end of the days of the "King" - worldy governments and the end of, or last, days. Mene is mentioned twice so we know 2 is an important number in our calculations of "the last days".
  
  3) Daniel 4:25 "Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over the kingdoms of men and gives them to anyone he wishes", so Seven times will pass before the worldy governments acknowledge that Jehovah is most high. Seven times is 7 years, or 2520 days if 360-day lunar years are used.

  4) 2520 * 2 (from the 2 Menes) = 5040

  5) Revelation 1 speaks of "seven churches", "seven stars" and "seven lampstands", 7 is vital in our calculations of "the last days". The times must be divided by 7, representing the times being 'divided' by the Kingdom, as 7 represents heavenly completeness (if you are wondering why 7 means this, it's because page 21 of "Revelation - It's grand climax at hand! says so).

  6) 5040 / 7 = 720

  7) 720 * 2 (from the 2 Menes, our 'end time multiplication factor') = 1440

  8) 1440 + 586 (the start of the "appointed time of the nations") = 2026

  There you have it, armageddon is coming in 2026!!

  Recently disfellowshipped prominent Assembly overseer in Western Europe now speaking out against the Watchtower org.

  former elder, and assembly overseer roberto from france will be joining barbara and joe anderson on tonight's conference call, july 18,2009. roberto was disfellowshipped in june 2009 and after many faithful years of service is now joining thousands of others who are speaking out against the evils of the watchtower organization.

  our call tonight will be focused on how the country of france, as well as other european countries are investigating jehovah's witnesses.

  the watchtower organization is experiencing difficulties in these countries for the inhumane treatment and exerting too much control over people's lives.

  i see that there are many people on here who've left the jw's and are still christians...but i wonder what type?

  has anyone changed to something completely different like hindu or buddhism?

  i have heard some doozies.

  some elders forbid the couple from sitting together at the meetings unless they are engaged.

  i have heard that said from the platform.

  I was told not to be in my car alone with my then gf, I explained this would be difficult as my car was a 2 seater sports car. The elder didn't seem to grasp this though.

  Other than that it was pretty easy, I ignored his advice and noone else seemed to stick their nose in - so it was wasn't too bad, I think it's a bit more relaxed in the UK though.

  Please help me to chill .... quit bouncing off the walls....detox...

  in some ways i am add....bouncing from thing to thing...i think i have always been a bit add, even as an kid.....never diagnosed formally, but i have the symptoms.. being a jw, especially an elder, did not help that one little bit.

  i was always busy doing something as a jw...field service, "studying" for meetings or some part, elder business, helping others in the congo, etc.

  i rarely took the time to just unwind, relax, do something for myself..... i was always worried about doing something for others.. on the other hand, on some things, i will be ultra focused on what i am doing to the point that i will let 8 hours go by and have to be reminded to go eat....this was the case when i was a billing specialist.. i would be in the middle of some fascinating adjustment (i love numbers, data analysis, stats, etc.

  I have kind of the same problem - try and have something going on all the time to occupy your senses, put music on whenever you can, chillout music can help if you want to unwind www.helpmechill.com or if you want distraction listen to something with some energy and lots of layers like some classic trance or electronica.

  Try and have a few things on the go entertainment wise, read 2-3 books, watch some tv series on DVD, take up some hobbies, do more time at work - you should be able to keep your mind pretty busy.

  Exercise is essential, go for a 30-60 min run 3 times a week, that will help with stress and the whole bouncing off the walls thing massively.
